Taken from the pages of his best-selling memoir, Christopher shares the intimate story of his teenage years, which chronicles how a family broken by alcoholism created an uncertain world for Chris as he stumbled through suburbia, trying to find a way out. Both a cautionary tale and coming-of-age story, Christopher also shares his unique glimpse into the world of addiction from a teenage boy’s perspective. Heartbreaking, funny, uplifting and filled with many lessons learned, you’ll leave with a stronger sense of empathy, gratitude and hope.

Designed for credit union audiences, we will dive into your purpose both personally and professionally, moving from the credit union “why” to your own “why.” After learning about the credit union difference and what makes our movement unique and powerful, Christopher will relay parts of his own tumultuous story from his book, “We Are All Made of Scars,” sharing how he has grown from those experiences by turning trauma into happiness, hope and a newfound sense of purpose. You’ll also have opportunities to look at your own life to find meaning, guidance and action.
